Flare Semi-Flush Ceiling Light

Semi-flush lights drop a few inches from the ceiling, adding presence and airflow around the shade—great when flush feels too minimal.

Scale the fixture to the room: add the room’s length and width (in feet) to approximate a diameter in inches (e.g., 12×12 ft → ~24-inch overall).

Target about 20–30 lumens per square foot across your layers; select fixture output accordingly and supplement with lamps or sconces.

2700–3000K provides warm ambience; 3500–4000K offers a neutral tone. CRI 90+ improves color quality for furnishings and art.

Most are dimmable with compatible LED dimmers (triac/ELV or 0–10 V). Check the spec sheet for tested dimmers and minimum levels.

Damp-rated models work in baths and covered porches; wet-rated versions are needed where water can reach the fixture.

Verify overall drop so doors and cabinet doors clear. In 8 ft rooms, many semi-flush fixtures with 8–12 inch drops fit well.

Integrated LEDs are slim and efficient; bulb-based fixtures make lamp changes easy. Pick based on service preference and style.

Dust regularly, wash glass or acrylic with mild soap, and avoid harsh chemicals on finishes. Re-tighten hardware if shades loosen.

Use a fixture-rated box, secure to structure, and cut power at the breaker. Follow local code and manufacturer instructions.
